The new MG6 is unveiled at Shanghai - coming to the UK in 2010
SAIC bought the rights to Rover when Rover fell apart after its sale by BMW for £10. But they didn’t secure all the rights to the ‘Rover’ name, so we won’t be seeing new Rovers by name, but instead we are to get a Rover 75 based MG – the first new MG launch since the ZS and ZT in 2001. Yesterday SAIC unveiled the new MG6, a sport hatchback based on the Rowe 550 (which is itself based on a shortened wheelbase Rover 75) and its destined to come to the UK next year.

Hyundai are certainly on a world domination quest and are making serious inroads in to the quality market in Europe. New cars like the Hyundai ix35 are bring serious competition to the VW Tiguan and the Ford Kuga, and next year’s Hyundai i40 is going to give Ford a few sleepless nights over the impact oin Mondeo sales. Audi has released a short video and pictures exploring the development of the fleet shuttle quattro from the new sci-fi blockbuster 'Ender's Game'. The concept, presented as a 1:4 illuminated scale model at the movie's premiere at the Chinese Theatre in Los Angeles, was first announced in August and is Audi's first car completely designed on a computer. During filming the actors drove an Audi A7 Sportback before Digital Domain – responsible for the film's special effects – used computer-generated imagery to transform it into the digital fleet shuttle Quattro in post-production.
